John A. Annen is a lawyer based in Whitby, Ontario, Canada, who specializes in Civil Litigation, Tribunals, Appeals, Constitutional Law, Provincial Offences, and Wills & Estates

John A. Annen was called to the Bar of Ontario on June 14, 2011, and has extensive experience in a wide range of litigation matters. John graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ottawa Law School in 2010.  While attending law school, John volunteered at the Eco-Justice Environmental Law Clinic and with the Ontario Bar Association. As an Articling Student John served as Bailiff at the first-ever Willms and Shier Environmental Moot Court competition.

In 2011 John was awarded the 2010 Harvey Bell Memorial Prize by the Native Law Centre of Canada for his academic achievement and for his current and future contributions to establishing the rights of Native Canadians and their communities.  Before attending law school, John graduated from Trent University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies in the Honours Program.

John has appeared before tribunals and courts concerning constitutional issues, indigenous rights, environmental torts, landlord and tenant issues, commercial litigation, and real property matters. John has successfully advocated on behalf of his clients in many Ontario Superior Court cases at various levels, including at trials, motions, conferences, and appeals.
